Noella started her legal career in a boutique insurance defence litigation firm in Toronto and focused her litigation practice in the area of accident benefits disputes.  She later went in-house with a large insurance company to establish their accident benefits team while simultaneously carrying personal injury and property damage files.  Following a short stint back in private practice Noella moved with her then young family to experience life and develop a broad financial services and insurance career in the Caribbean.

With her strong legal background and keen adaptability, she and her business partner opened a boutique financial services firm in 2005 in the British Virgin Islands providing ‘cradle to grave’ captive insurance management and company management services. That business then expanded to open offices in Anguilla and the Cayman Islands.  Noella served as Director, General Counsel and Compliance Officer, gaining valuable skills while navigating ever-changing insurance and financial services regulatory frameworks.

After 20 glorious years of sun & surf working in the offshore financial services world, Noella traded in her dive gear for a road bike and made the brilliant decision to return “home” to Toronto to continue her litigation practice. She handles disputes involving Accident Benefits, Priority, Loss Transfer, WSIAT Right to Sue Applications, Property Damage, Occupiers’ Liability and Bodily Injury.

Noella is passionate about health and wellness.  During her time in the Caribbean (and while running a full service offshore financial services firm), Noella pursued and obtained her diploma in Holistic Nutrition along with additional adjunct certifications.  She is particularly fascinated about the link between nutrition and mental health and integrative approaches for mental health.  When she is not reading (or making) caselaw she can be found researching, applying and sharing the latest in nutrition and holistic well-being.
